Reviews: Tacama Gran Tinto

Tacama Gran Tinto

With its handsome glistening red colour, this is a perfectly presented wine. Its pleasant bouquet is predominantly fruity and it has good elegance, suggesting the certainty of the pleasure to come. The tannic structure is very soft and silky. It displays unquestionable concentration and a remarkable harmony, which account for a large part of its charm, typical of the red wines produced at Tacama.
Gran Tinto results from blending different varieties originally from the south-western region of France: Malbec, Tannat and Petit Verdot. A light, delicate, wine with harmony, this distinguished, elegant product is perfectly adaptable to light meals.
Percentage of vine stocks that compose it 51% malbec, 44% tannat, 5% syrah.

Gran Tinto 2007
Malbec, Petit Verdot, Tannat in 2008 also some Shiraz was added to the blend.
Medium ruby colour, quite a meatball on the nose. Red fruit with spice. Yet there is some heat in the wine, juice red fruit finish but slow on the palate. Medium.
