The Winery

The Vargas Arizu family, who has been tied to viticulture for more than fifty years, kept its most precious treasure: the vineyards located in the first viticulture area of Mendoza: Vistalba and Carrodilla, Luján de Cuyo. In honor to the parents of the winery, Vicente Vargas Videla and Juana María Arizu , Tierras Altas was conceived in the same time period as a good wine. The winery is located at the food of the Andes , where the proximity to the mountains brings better aromatic qualities. People at Tierras Altas winery work with true vocation making wine from the land, as a way of living. This modern winery was built to elaborate only high quality wines, basically Malbec. The architecture of each area, from the gardens to the casks room, anticipate the respect, and the professional and technological care used in the elaboration and ageing of the wine. This is the way in which the wines personally elaborated at Tierras Altas are born with the commitment of the family history, its support, and the guarantee of an important tradition. In Tierras Altas there is a belief in the future, in the nobility of wine as an unbeatable attribute and in the value of natural products. “Vargas Arizu, a family around the wine”.
